Teachnet Institute Grant Lesson Three:
A Deeper Look at Demographic Data: Compare Multiple Tables in Gotham Gazette Reports to Visualize New Information

This four-lesson unit asks students to discover opportunities in The Gotham Gazette's demographic reports where data can be cross referenced to build new meaning. They will learn how to find and investigate data tables, find data that can be cross referenced in different parts of the report and use table and graphing tools in Microsoft Excel to create new graphs. Once they make new graphs, they will summarize their findings in a report where they integrate graphics and text in an attractive paper that can be printed out or uploaded to a student blog.
